Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the face and voice of the global breast cancer movement, with local affiliates in 125 cities and communities, and advocates at the local, state and federal level. We are the most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
With nearly $1 billion invested to date, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world's largest source of non-profit funds dedicated to curing breast cancer at every stage -- from the causes to the cures, to the pain and anxiety of every moment in between.
The Komen for the Cure NENY Affiliate provides services to 11 counties: Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Washington, Warren, Hamilton, Essex, Clinton, Montgomery and Franklin.
Our Affiliate has granted over $1.8 million to breast cancer screening, education, and treatment programs in our local affiliate areas. Up to 75 percent of our net revenues from our race and third party events help to fund these programs. A minimum of 25 percent supports the Komen Award and Research Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
