Susan G. Komen® Northeastern New York Announces Availability of Grant Funds For Fiscal Year 2016-17



October 7, 2015--Susan G. Komen Northeastern New York® is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 2015-16. Applications for breast cancer and breast health programs from nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in the service area of the Northeastern New York Affiliate (Albany, Schenectady, Fulton, Schoharie, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Essex, Franklin, Clinton, Saratoga, Montgomery, Warren, Washington, and Hamilton counties) are eligible for funding.


The promise of Susan G. Komen is save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing science to find the cure. The organization runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. Up to 25% of our net proceeds fund cutting edge national breast cancer and breast health research. In addition to funding research, the Northeastern New York Affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in the above named 15 counties of New York. In 2014, we funded $168,462 in local community programs. Since 1995, we have awarded more than $3.1 million to local breast cancer and breast health programs.


Grant applications must be submitted electronically to: by December 10th, 2015.  Information and background about the grants process is on our website at: .  Our grant cycle runs from April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017. Eligible applications must be submitted online on or before December 10th, 2015.  Announcements of funding will be made in March 2016.
